THE TRAINING CENTRE

MOVEO is a performing arts centre dedicated to the training, creation and investigation of physical theatre and Etienne Decroux's dramatic corporeal mime.


MOVEO works around two main axes : training and creation .

Within the training axe, we organise diploma courses, intensive workshops, weekend laboratories with the aim of widening the offer of theatre training and introduce lines of physical work that, until now, were not taught in Spain. In 2004, we created, with Els Mechanics, the Escuela internacional de mimo corporal dramático de Barcelona (International school of corporal mime).

Since our origins and until now, students from all over the world have participated in the school's activities: Argentina, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Lebanon, Mexico, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Uruguay, and USA. People from various horizons and backgrounds: professional actors and dancers, but also students of other subjects and people just interested in discovering this artform.

In the second axe we create and produce devised contemporary shows under the name of Moveo Teatro. The company's principal objective is to develop theatre shows in which the body is the main mean of expression, using it as a poetical instrument, but also integrating texts, music, set and video.

Since its creation, Moveo Teatro has created four shows, Marelle, Réquiem (Jury’s Special Award for the skillful fusion of scenic languages, Muestra de Teatro de Barcelona 2007), Detrás (created from a show directed at the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona) and Soñar el Río Hasta el Mar.
