9-hours intensive course with Sauf le Dimanche Co & CIA MOVEO
Two companies, the Cia Moveo (ES) and Sauf le Dimanche (FR), propose a transmission and collaboration workshop around the gestures that are part of our lives : how we give them, how we receive them, how we transform them into artistic material and make them the basis of a creative work.
This workshop will take place after the presentations of two shows by the respective companies in Barcelona on June 18, 2021, “Troc” at the Altre Festival and “Echoes” at the Centre of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona.
Each company will orientate its work towards its specialty, dance or physical theatre, in addition to the exchanges that will take place during the workshop with the participants, which will be crucial to nurture research and work.
Workshop for professionals, students and all people interested in the performing arts. Given in Spanish and English.
The course will be taught in Spanish and English.
SAUF LE DIMANCHE
Emilie and Marie are dancers and choreographers of the Cie Sauf le Dimanche since 2016. They have trained mostly with Nadine Beaulieu, after discovering Erick Hawkins’ technique and improvisation. They have also performed with various companies in venues and in the public space. This common background has allowed them to develop their company work several years, finding the meaning they give to movement and the places where they want to bring dance. At present, they offer their shows in public spaces. Before every performance, every location is observed and analyzed in order to offer the fairest and most sensitive movement. This way of working has allowed them to meet a broad variety of audiences.
The Cia Moveo was founded in Barcelona in 2005 and creates shows that, through a delicate physical work and great narrative poetry, demonstrate the communicative force of its work on stage and in the public space.
The company’s repertoire includes numerous shows, artistic and educational projects, developed both locally in Catalonia and internationally, The company’s multidisciplinary and multicultural approach allows it to create work that emerges from a constant process of research, fostering collaboration between artists from different disciplines.
Since 2014, the company has specialised in street arts shows that have allowed them to work in relation to very different kinds of publics, integrating the interaction and connection created with the audience in every performance. They have toured to a wide variety of locations, that also have brought the opportunity to get closer to various types of places, like small villages, cities, open markets, schools and highschools, public parks…
