At Moveo we are committed to performing arts as an investigation of questions and a bringing into play of our own body. It is not about giving fixed answers, but about opening new paths, sharing in the research and bringing together poetry, humor, irony and criticism. It is about believing in the human body as a vector of communication. To value it by creating and dialoguing, in addition to bringing it together with the text, the music, the props, the space, etc.
The landscape of the performing arts is undergoing profound changes. The limits between traditional disciplines such as theatre and dance are mixing or softening, favoring the appearance of new genres. Among them, physical theatre, also called mime, visual theatre or movement theatre.
But physical theater is not only the result of this contemporary transformation; it also has a specific history and is the result of research from the 20th century. Our diploma program includes studying its legacy through technique and repertoire but also the place of corporeal mime in contemporary physical theatre and the tools it provides to devise shows.
It is a training whose objective is to provide students with knowledge and methods to use their physicality as the main element of creation and interpretation, as well as a solid base so that they can continue their artistic path in the field of performing arts, particularly in physical theatre. A training that also opens a dialogue with other disciplines of the performing arts, with the aim of enriching interpretive and creative skills.
